ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT STEERING PAD (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
(a) Perform a diagnostic system check (See page ).
(b) With the steering pad installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the steering pad with a new one:
Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the steering pad top surface or in the grooved portion.
2. INSPECT STEERING PAD (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has not Deployed)
(a) Perform a diagnostic system check (See page ).
(b) With the steering pad removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the steering pad or steering wheel assembly with a new one:
CAUTION:
For removal and installation procedures of the steering pad, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
Vehicle Speed Signal Malfunction (B2282,B2283)
DESCRIPTION
DTC B2282 is stored when the vehicle speed signal sent by the combination meter
assembly via direct line and the vehicle speed signal sent via CAN communication
do not match.
DTC B2283 is stored when a malfunction in the vehicle speed sensor is detected.
