Toyota Tacoma (2015-2018) Service Manual: Indicator Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The forward recognition camera sends indicator illumination request signals to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

PROCEDURE

1.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: System Select / CAN Bus Check.

Result

Proceed to

All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed.

None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed.

CHECK DTC (HEALTH CHECK)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.

(e) Check DTCs.

Result

No DTCs are output.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (METER DISPLAY 1)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / LKA/LDA / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
