HINT:
When the data in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) is being overwritten, a message is displayed on the multi-information display and the 4LO indicator light rapidly blinks due to the 4 wheel drive control ECU detecting a communication malfunction (blinks at 0.25 second intervals (0.25 seconds on and 0.25 seconds off)), but this is not a malfunction.
for 2WD:
When the data in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) is being overwritten, the rear differential lock indicator light may rapidly blink due to the 4 wheel drive control ECU detecting a communication malfunction (blinks at 0.25 second intervals (0.25 seconds on and 0.25 seconds off)), but this is not a malfunction.

1. INSTALL NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR
HINT:
Use the same procedure for both sides.
(a) Engage the 4 claws to install the 4 No. 1 ultrasonic sensors as shown in
the illustration.

1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR BOLT
(a) Remove the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly (See page
).
(b) Check that the plunger strokes when the plunger in the center of
the camshaft timing gear bolt is pressed.

2. INSPECT FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM
(a) Install the hub nuts onto the disc.
(b) Using a dial indicator, check the lower ball joint for excessive play when
you push the hub nuts up and down with a force of 294 N (30 kgf, 66 lbf).
