PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Text in Illustration
Standard Resistance:
HINT: If the resistance is out of the specified range at any of the ATF temperatures shown in the table below, the driveability of the vehicle may decrease. Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the transmission wire. |

(a) Remove the drain plug and gasket from the automatic transmission
assembly and drain the ATF.

DESCRIPTION
In Test Mode (signal check), a malfunction in the speed sensor that cannot be
detected when the vehicle is stopped can be detected while driving.
Sensor check mode can be entered by connecting terminals TS and CG of the DLC3
and turning the ignition switch from off to ON.

When installing the hood bulge protector, heat the hood bulge surface
using the infrared light.
Do not heat the hood bulge excessively.

1. INSPECT OIL PUMP RELIEF VALVE
(a) Coat the oil pump relief valve with engine oil and check that it
falls smoothly into the valve hole by its own weight.
If the valve does not fall smoothly, replace the timing chain cover assembly.
