The emergency flashers warn surrounding drivers when the vehicle must remain stopped on or near the roadway because of a breakdown, emergency, or similar situation. They make the Toyota Tacoma more noticeable by flashing all turn signal lights simultaneously.
Operating instructions
Press the emergency flasher switch once to make all turn signal lights flash together.
To stop the emergency flashers, press the same switch again.
Emergency flashers
- Using the emergency flashers for an extended period while the engine is not running can gradually discharge the vehicle battery.
- If any SRS airbag deploys or the vehicle experiences a strong rear impact, the emergency flashers may activate automatically.
The emergency flashers will normally switch off automatically after operating for approximately 20 minutes. If they need to be turned off manually before that time, press the emergency flasher switch twice.
The emergency flashers may not activate automatically in every collision. Automatic operation depends on the severity of the impact and the specific circumstances of the event.
