DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid) measures the speed of each wheel by receiving signals from the speed sensors. These signals are used for recognizing whether all 4 wheels are operating properly. Therefore, all wheel signals must be equal.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

Check the speed sensor signal after replacement (See page PROCEDURE ).

PROCEDURE

1.	CHECK TIRE SIZE

(a) Check tire size and condition of all 4 wheels.

OK:

All 4 wheels are the same size and in the same condition.

REPLACE TIRES SO THAT ALL 4 TIRES ARE SAME IN SIZE

2.	CHECK SPEED SENSOR ROTOR

(a) Remove the drive shaft, and check around the speed sensor rotor.

OK:

No scratches or foreign matter on the sensor tip.

REPLACE SPEED SENSOR ROTOR

3.	CHECK SPEED SENSOR

(a) Check the speed sensor circuit.

Front speed sensor (See page ).
Rear speed sensor (See page ).

REPLACE SPEED SENSOR

4.	CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - EACH SPEED SENSOR)

(a) Check the speed sensor circuit .

Front speed sensor (See page ).
Rear speed sensor (See page ).

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

5.	RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs (See page (b) Drive the vehicle at more than 20 km/h (13 mph) for more than 60 seconds. ).
