Toyota Tacoma (2015-2018) Service Manual: Problem Symptoms Table

PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

If a normal code is displayed during the DTC check but the problem still occurs, check the circuits for each problem symptom in the order given in the table below and proceed to the relevant troubleshooting page.

NOTICE:

When replacing the skid control ECU (master cylinder solenoid), sensor or etc., turn the ignition switch to off.

Check for DTCs again and make sure that normal system code displayed.

IG power source circuit

Speed sensor circuit

Check hydraulic brake booster using Techstream (Check hydraulic brake booster operation using active test function) If abnormal, check hydraulic circuit for leakage

If symptoms still occur even after above circuits in suspected areas inspected and proved to be normal, replace master cylinder solenoid.

ABS, BA and/or EBD does not operate efficiently

Check for DTCs again and make sure that normal system code displayed.

Speed sensor circuit

Stop light switch circuit

Check hydraulic brake booster using Techstream (Check hydraulic brake booster operation using active test function) If abnormal, check hydraulic circuit for leakage

If symptoms still occur even after above circuits in suspected areas inspected and proved to be normal, replace master cylinder solenoid.

VSC and/or TRAC does not operate

Check for DTCs again and make sure that normal system code displayed.

IG power source circuit

Check hydraulic circuit for leakage

Speed sensor circuit

Yaw rate and acceleration sensor circuit

Steering angle sensor circuit

VSC OFF switch circuit

If symptoms still occur even after above circuits in suspected areas inspected and proved to be normal, replace master cylinder solenoid.

Sensor signal check cannot be performed

Master cylinder solenoid

DTC check cannot be performed

Check for DTCs again and make sure that normal system code displayed.

If symptoms still occur even after above circuits in suspected areas inspected and proved to be normal, replace master cylinder solenoid.

ABS warning light remains on
