ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
CAUTION:
Be sure to correctly follow the removal and installation procedures for the front airbag sensors.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
(a) Perform a diagnostic system check (See page
).
2. INSPECT FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has not Deployed)
(a) Perform a diagnostic system check (See page
).
(b) Visually check the front airbag sensors for defects if the front bumper of the vehicle or the area around the bumper is damaged.
(1) The defects are as follows:
OK:
No defects are found.
HINT:
If any of the defects is found, replace the front airbag sensors with a new one.
3. INSPECT FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has Deployed)
(a) When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace front airbag sensors in the damaged area (anywhere in need of repair).
(b) Visually check the front airbag sensors not front collision defects.
(1) The defects are as follows:
OK:
No defects are found.
HINT:
If any of the defects is found or a front airbag sensors has detected a major collision, replace the front airbag sensors with a new one.

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the back sonar or clearance sonar switch assembly on.
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Intuitive P/A / Trouble Codes.
