Toyota Tacoma (2015-2018) Service Manual: Unusual Bank Angle Detected (C1440)

DESCRIPTION

If the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) determines that the vehicle is being driven at a steep bank angle, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) stores DTC C1440 while VSC operation is temporarily disabled.

This is not a malfunction if the system and sensor circuits are normal and normal VSC operation resumes.

CHECK DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs (See page ). (b) Turn the ignition switch off. ).

(b) Turn the ignition switch off.

(c) Start the engine.

(d) Perform a road test.

(e) Check if the same DTC is recorded (See page Result Result ).

CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs (See page ). ).

HINT:

  • If the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) determines that the vehicle is being driven at a steep bank angle, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) stores DTC C1440 while VSC operation is temporarily disabled.
  • It is not a malfunction if the system and sensor circuits are normal and if the normal VSC operation resumes, which automatically clears DTC C1440, after the vehicle is returned to a normal position.
