The warning lights and indicators located in the instrument cluster, overhead console, and outside rear view mirrors provide the driver with important information about the operating status of various Toyota Tacoma systems. Monitoring these symbols helps the driver recognize normal system operation as well as conditions that may require attention.
Instrument cluster
For explanatory purposes, the following illustrations show all warning lights and indicators illuminated at the same time. During normal Toyota Tacoma operation, only the indicators relevant to the current vehicle condition or active system will be displayed.
Vehicles with 7-inch display

The units shown on the meters and the appearance or availability of certain indicators may vary depending on the target region in which the vehicle is sold.
Vehicles with 12.3-inch display
The meter type can be changed through "
Settings" on the multi-information display, allowing the driver to select the available meter presentation.
Type 1

The measurement units used on the meters and certain indicator symbols may differ depending on the target region and vehicle specifications.
Type 2

The units displayed on the meters and the design of some indicators may vary according to the target region in which the Toyota Tacoma is configured for sale.
Type 3

The units used for meter readings and some warning or status indicators may differ depending on the vehicle's intended market and regional specifications.
Warning lights
Warning lights alert the driver to detected malfunctions, abnormal operating conditions, or other issues involving the indicated Toyota Tacoma systems. If a warning light appears while driving, identify the symbol and follow the appropriate instructions for that condition.

*1: These warning lights illuminate when the engine switch is turned to ON to indicate that the Toyota Tacoma is performing a system check. They normally turn off after the engine has been started or after several seconds. If any of these lights fail to illuminate during the check, or remain on afterward, a malfunction may be present in the corresponding system. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer.
*2: This warning light appears on the multi-information display together with a related message that provides additional information about the detected condition.
WARNING
If a safety system warning light does not come on
If a safety-related warning light, such as the ABS or SRS warning light, does not illuminate when the engine is started, the corresponding system may not be available to provide its intended protection in an accident. This could increase the risk of death or serious injury. If this condition occurs in your Toyota Tacoma, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately.
Indicators
The indicators provide the driver with information about the current operating state of the Toyota Tacoma's various systems. Depending on the system and driving conditions, an indicator may illuminate, flash, or change color to show that a particular function is active, available, or operating in a specific mode.

Stop lights indicator
*1: This indicator illuminates when the corresponding Toyota Tacoma system or function has been switched off.
*2: These indicators illuminate when the engine switch is turned to ON to show that the vehicle is performing an automatic system check. They normally turn off after the engine has been started or after several seconds. If an indicator does not illuminate during the check, or remains illuminated afterward when it should turn off, a malfunction may be present in the corresponding system. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer.
*3: Depending on the operating condition of the four-wheel-drive system, the color of the indicator and whether it remains illuminated or flashes may change to reflect the current system state.
*4: This indicator appears on the multi-information display together with a message that provides additional information about the relevant condition or system operation.
*5: These indicators illuminate on the outside rear view mirrors, allowing the driver to receive the corresponding visual notification without looking away from the mirror area.
*6: This indicator is located on and illuminates in the overhead console.
*7: When the outside temperature is approximately 37ºF (3ºC) or lower, the low outside temperature indicator flashes for approximately 10 seconds and then remains illuminated. This provides the Toyota Tacoma driver with a visible indication of low ambient temperature conditions.
Intuitive parking assist OFF indicator
On vehicles equipped with the intuitive parking assist detection indicator, the indicators turn off when the shift position is changed to R, regardless of whether the intuitive parking assist function itself is currently turned on or off. This behavior is part of the normal indicator operation and should be distinguished from a system malfunction.
Stop light indicator
The stop light indicator illuminates whenever the stop lights are activated, whether they are turned on by the driver's operation of the brake pedal or automatically through operation of a driving assist system. This allows the Toyota Tacoma driver to confirm that the stop lights are being illuminated as part of the vehicle's braking or driver-assistance operation.
