Anchor brackets (for top tether strap)

Anchor brackets are provided for each rear seating position in the Toyota Tacoma.

WARNING

When installing a child restraint system

Observe the following precautions whenever securing a child restraint system with a top tether strap.

Failure to follow these precautions may result in death or serious injury.

  • Firmly attach the top tether strap to the specified anchor bracket and make sure that the strap is not twisted. After tightening, check that the restraint does not move excessively.
  • Do not attach the top tether strap to anything other than the designated anchor bracket. An incorrect attachment point may not provide the intended restraint.
  • Follow all installation instructions provided by the child restraint system manufacturer, including the specified belt routing, tether routing, and tightening procedure.
  • Rear center seat: When installing the child restraint system with the head restraint raised, after the head restraint has been positioned correctly and the top tether has been attached to the anchor bracket, do not lower the head restraint if doing so would interfere with the tether strap or restraint.
  • If the Toyota Tacoma seat is adjusted after installation, reconfirm that the child restraint system and top tether strap remain securely attached and correctly tensioned.
