When using the outside rear view mirrors in cold weather
In cold weather, the outside rear view mirrors may become frozen, making it difficult or impossible to fold or extend them, or to adjust the mirror surface. Before operating the mirrors, carefully remove any ice, snow, or other frozen material covering the outside rear view mirrors. Do not force a frozen mirror to move, as normal adjustment may not be possible until the obstruction has been cleared.

- Do not adjust the outside rear view mirrors while driving. Make any necessary changes before the vehicle is moving.

- Both the driver's and passenger side mirrors must be fully unfolded and correctly adjusted before driving so that the areas beside and behind the vehicle can be checked properly.
Adjustment procedure
1. To select the outside rear view mirror you want to adjust, press the corresponding mirror selection switch.

2. To change the angle of the selected mirror, press the adjustment switch in the required direction.

Mirror angle can be adjusted when
The mirror angle can be electrically adjusted when the engine switch is in ACC or ON. Select the appropriate mirror first, then use the adjustment switch to obtain the desired viewing position.
Defogging the mirrors
The outside rear view mirrors can be cleared of fog or moisture using the mirror defoggers, helping restore a clearer rearward view when the mirror surfaces become obscured.
Turn on the mirror defoggers when it is necessary to defog the outside rear view mirrors.
When the mirror defoggers are operating
Do not touch the outside rear view mirror surfaces while the defoggers are operating, as the surfaces can become very hot and may cause burns.
Folding and unfolding the mirrors
To fold an outside rear view mirror, push the mirror housing back in the direction of the vehicle's rear. When returning it to the normal driving position, make sure the mirror is fully unfolded before driving the Toyota Tacoma.
