DESCRIPTION

The engine control unit and transmission control unit are located inside the ECM. The engine control unit intercommunicates with the transmission control ECU via CAN communication. If there is a problem in this intercommunication, the ECM stores this DTC.

Following conditions are met for 1.25 seconds (1 trip detection logic):

  1. The ignition switch is ON
  2. Battery voltage is 9.5 V or more
  3. No communication between engine control unit and transmission control unit

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

HINT:

After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.

  1. Check that the battery voltage is 9.5 V or more.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Check for DTCs again (See page ).

PROCEDURE

CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC U010087)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Trouble Codes.

(d) Check if DTCs are output.
