You can replace the bulb identified below yourself when necessary. If the replacement procedure appears difficult, access is limited, or you are unsure about performing the work correctly, contact your Toyota dealer.

Preparing for light bulb replacement
Before removing a bulb, verify the specified wattage of the replacement light bulb so that the correct component is installed.
Bulb location
- Front turn signal/parking lights (bulb type)

- Daytime running lights
- Front turn signal/parking lights (LED type)
- Front fog lights (if equipped)
- Side marker lights
- Side turn signal lights
- Tail lights

- Back-up light
- Rear turn signal lights
- High mounted stoplight/cargo lamp
- Trailer hitch light (if equipped)
- Bed lights (if equipped)
- License plate light
When replacing the light bulbs
After installation, confirm that each bulb is fully engaged with its base and securely seated. Also check that no light is escaping from an improperly fitted bulb or surrounding mounting area.
LED Lights
With the exception of the front turn signal/parking lights equipped with replaceable bulbs, the listed lights use assemblies containing multiple LEDs. If one or more LEDs stop illuminating, take the Toyota Tacoma to your Toyota dealer so the affected light assembly can be inspected and replaced as necessary.
Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
A small amount of temporary condensation on the inner surface of a light lens does not by itself indicate a malfunction. Changes in temperature and humidity can cause this condition to appear temporarily.
Contact your Toyota dealer for further inspection if either of the following conditions is observed:
- Large water droplets accumulate on the inside surface of any light lens.
- A noticeable amount of water has collected inside a light assembly.
Replacing light bulb
Front turn signal/parking lights (bulb type)
1. On the passenger's side, remove the 4 push clips securing the air cleaner inlet, then remove the inlet to provide access to the bulb area.
2. Grip the bulb base and rotate it counterclockwise to release it from the light housing.
3. Pull the light bulb out of the bulb base carefully without damaging the surrounding components.
4. Fit the new bulb into position, reinstall the bulb base in the housing, and rotate the base clockwise until it is securely locked.
5. On the passenger's side, reinstall the air cleaner inlet and secure it with all 4 push clips, making sure each clip is seated correctly.
WARNING
Replacing light bulbs
- Turn the lights off before beginning replacement. Do not attempt to remove a bulb immediately after the lights have been switched off because bulbs can remain extremely hot and may cause burns.
- Do not touch the glass portion of a light bulb directly with bare hands.
If handling the glass cannot be avoided, use a clean, dry cloth so that moisture, skin oils, and other contamination are not transferred to the bulb surface. A bulb that is scratched, contaminated, or dropped may crack or fail prematurely.
- Install each replacement bulb and all retaining components completely and securely. Incorrect installation can lead to excessive heat, fire, or water entering the light assembly. Moisture intrusion may damage the light or cause persistent condensation inside the lens.
To prevent damage or fire
Before operating the lights, confirm that every replacement bulb is fully seated and securely locked in its proper position.
