The air conditioning filter should be replaced at the recommended intervals so that airflow through the climate control system remains effective and contaminants are properly filtered from the incoming air.

Removing the air conditioning filter

1. Turn the engine switch off before beginning work on the air conditioning filter.

2. Open the glove box fully to gain access to the filter area behind it.

6. Take the used air conditioning filter out of the filter case and install a new filter in its place.

The " Air conditioning filter UP direction mark UP" markings on both the filter and the filter case must face upward so the replacement filter is installed in the correct orientation.

 Checking interval

Inspect and replace the air conditioning filter according to the applicable maintenance schedule. Vehicles regularly operated in dusty surroundings or heavy traffic may require filter replacement sooner because airborne dirt can accumulate more quickly. For the specified maintenance intervals, refer to the "Owner's Manual Supplement" or "Scheduled Maintenance Guide".

If air flow from the vents decreases dramatically

A noticeable reduction in airflow from the vents may indicate that the air conditioning filter has become clogged with dust or debris. Inspect the filter and replace it if its condition requires replacement.

NOTICE

When using the air conditioning system

Always make sure an air conditioning filter is installed before operating the system.

Running the air conditioning system without a filter can allow contaminants to enter components that are normally protected and may result in system damage.

To prevent damage to the filter cover

When moving the filter cover in the direction indicated by the arrow to release it from the fitting, do not pull or pry with excessive force. The retaining claws can be damaged if they are stressed beyond what is necessary for removal.
