Toyota Tacoma (N400, 2024-2026) Owner's Manual: 7-Inch Multi-Information Display

The multi-information display provides fuel efficiency information together with a variety of driving-related data, helping the driver monitor important Toyota Tacoma operating information while on the road.

The multi-information display can also be used to adjust display preferences and other available vehicle settings, allowing supported functions to be configured from the instrument cluster.

Display contents

 Display

1. RSA (Road Sign Assist) (if equipped)
   Displays recognized road signs while the RSA (Road Sign Assist) system is operating, providing the driver with relevant sign information detected by the system.
2. Content display area
   By selecting the appropriate menu icons on the multi-information display, the driver can view a variety of driving-related information. The Toyota Tacoma multi-information display can also be used to change display settings and other supported vehicle settings.

   Warning messages, advice notifications, and other pop-up displays may also appear automatically in certain situations when the vehicle needs to provide additional information to the driver.

 Menu icons

Information associated with each menu icon can be displayed by selecting the desired icon using the meter control switches. This allows the driver to move between the available Toyota Tacoma information screens without changing the overall meter layout.

Some information may also be displayed automatically depending on the current vehicle condition or operating situation.

 Liquid crystal display

Small dark spots or bright spots may occasionally appear on the screen. This is a characteristic of liquid crystal displays and does not indicate a malfunction, so the Toyota Tacoma multi-information display can continue to be used normally.

WARNING

Caution for use while driving

• When operating the multi-information display while driving, pay careful attention to traffic conditions and the safety of the area surrounding the Toyota Tacoma.
• Do not look continuously at the multi-information display while driving. Doing so may prevent you from noticing pedestrians, objects, vehicles, or other hazards on the road ahead.

Changing the meter display

The multi-information display is controlled using the meter control switches, which allow the driver to select menus, move through information screens, and operate supported display functions.

   : Change displayed content, scroll up or down the screen, and move the cursor up or down through the available items
2. Press: Enter/Set
   Press and hold: Reset/Display customizable items, when the selected screen supports these functions
3. Return to the previous screen or menu.
4. Display call sending/receiving information and call history when linked with the supported hands-free system.

When linked with the hands-free system, information related to outgoing or incoming calls can be displayed on the multi-information display, allowing supported call information to appear within the Toyota Tacoma instrument cluster.

For detailed information regarding operation of the hands-free system, refer to the "MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL".

 Fuel economy

• Use the displayed fuel economy values as a reference only, as the indicated figures are intended to provide general driving information rather than an exact measurement under every operating condition.

1. Current fuel consumption
   Displays the instantaneous fuel consumption of the Toyota Tacoma, allowing the driver to monitor how fuel is being used under current driving conditions.
2. Average fuel economy (after reset)
   Displays the average fuel economy calculated after the value has been reset. To reset the average fuel economy display, press and hold the meter control switch.

The average fuel economy display can be changed using the corresponding setting in .

• Average fuel economy (after start)
  Displays the average fuel consumption calculated since the engine was started, providing a useful reference for the current driving session.
• Average fuel economy (after refuel)
  Displays the average fuel consumption calculated since the Toyota Tacoma was last refueled.

 Eco Driving Indicator/Distance to empty

• Eco Driving Indicator

1. Eco Driving Indicator Zone Display
   Shows the recommended Eco driving zone together with the current Eco driving ratio based on accelerator operation, helping the driver understand how acceleration affects economical driving.
2. Eco driving ratio based on acceleration
   If acceleration exceeds the Zone of Eco driving, the right side of the Eco Driving Indicator Zone Display will illuminate, indicating that acceleration has moved beyond the suggested economical range.
3. Zone of Eco driving
   • Distance to empty

Displays the estimated driving range available with the remaining fuel, giving the Toyota Tacoma driver a useful reference for planning when to refuel.

 Distance to empty

• This distance is calculated based on the vehicle's average fuel consumption.

  As a result, the actual distance that can be driven may differ from the value shown on the display depending on fuel consumption and current driving conditions.

• When only a small amount of fuel is added to the tank, the display may not update immediately. When refueling, turn the engine switch to OFF.

  If the Toyota Tacoma is refueled without turning the engine switch to OFF, the displayed distance to empty may not be updated correctly.

• When "Refuel" is displayed, the remaining fuel level is low and the system cannot calculate the distance that can still be driven with the remaining fuel. Refuel the vehicle immediately.

Driving support system information display

 Driving support system information

Select this display to view the current operational status and related information for the following Toyota Tacoma driving support systems:

• LDA (Lane Departure Alert)
• LTA (Lane Tracing Assist)
• Dynamic radar cruise control
• Cruise control
• PCS (Pre-Collision System)
• PDA (Proactive driving assist) (if equipped)

 Navigation system-linked display

Select this display to show the following information linked with the navigation system, allowing relevant guidance to appear directly within the multi-information display:

• Route guidance to the selected destination
• Compass display (heading-up display)

Audio system-linked display

The current operating status and related information for the audio system can be displayed on the Toyota Tacoma multi-information display, allowing the driver to view supported audio information without switching to another vehicle screen.

Vehicle information display

 Trailer brake (if equipped)

Displays the current trailer brake control status and the selected trailer type*, providing relevant towing information when the system is equipped.

*: To select the trailer, press and hold the meter control switch.

 Trailer Mode BSM (if equipped)

Displays the selected trailer length* together with the trailer blind spot monitoring status, helping the driver review relevant information while towing.

*: To select the trailer, press and hold the meter control switch.

 Drive information

Two items selected using the "Drive Info Items" setting (average speed, distance, and total time) can be displayed vertically on the multi-information display for convenient reference.

Use the displayed Toyota Tacoma driving information as a reference only, as the values are intended to provide general trip-related information.

The following items can be displayed.

• "Average Speed": Displays the average vehicle speed calculated since the engine was started*
• "Distance": Displays the total distance driven since the engine was started*
• "Total Time": Displays the total elapsed time since the engine was started*

*: These items are reset automatically each time the engine stops, so the displayed information applies to the current engine operating period.

 Trip information

Two items selected using the "TRIP A Items" or "TRIP B Items" setting (average speed, distance and total time) can be displayed vertically, allowing Toyota Tacoma trip information to be arranged according to the driver's preference.

Use the displayed information as a reference only, as the values are intended to provide general driving and trip-related information.

• "Average Speed": Displays the average vehicle speed calculated since the display was last reset*
• "Distance": Displays the total distance driven since the display was last reset*
• "Total Time": Displays the total elapsed time since the display was last reset*

*: To reset an item, display the desired information and press and hold the meter control switch until the reset operation is performed.

 Tire inflation pressure

Displays the inflation pressure of each tire, allowing the driver to check individual Toyota Tacoma tire pressure information on the multi-information display.

 Traction monitor display (4WD models)

1. Front tire direction display
   Shows the steering input and direction through changes in the position of the front tires represented on the display, providing a visual reference for the current steering direction.
2. Wheel spin display
   When a tire is spinning, the corresponding icon on the display changes color and blinks to indicate the affected wheel.

   This item is displayed only when the driving mode is set to sport mode.

The illustration shown is provided as an example, and its appearance may differ from the image that is actually shown on the Toyota Tacoma multi-information display.

 Clinometer

The clinometer displays the Toyota Tacoma inclination toward the front, rear, left, and right within a range of 0º to approximately 30º, giving the driver a visual indication of vehicle angle.

1. Degree markers of incline to the front and rear
   Indicate the vehicle inclination in degrees in the forward and rearward directions.
2. Degree markers of incline to the left and right
   Indicate the vehicle inclination in degrees toward the left and right sides.
3. Pointer
   Indicates the degree of vehicle inclination in relation to a parallel line, providing a quick visual reference for the current angle.

 Voltmeter and Engine oil pressure gauge

1. Voltmeter
   Displays the charge state, allowing the driver to monitor the electrical system information shown by the gauge.
2. Engine oil pressure gauge
   Displays the current engine oil pressure for convenient monitoring while the engine is operating.

 Engine oil temperature gauge and Transmission oil temperature gauge

1. Engine oil temperature gauge
   Displays the current engine oil temperature, helping the driver monitor this operating condition.
2. Transmission oil temperature gauge (if equipped)
   Displays the transmission oil fluid temperature when this gauge is available on the Toyota Tacoma.

 Boost gauge

Displays the boost pressure, providing the driver with a visual indication of the current boost level during engine operation.

NOTICE

Voltmeter

If the voltmeter indicates 19 V or higher or 9 V or lower while the engine is running, a battery or charging system malfunction may be present. Have the Toyota Tacoma inspected by your Toyota dealer to determine the cause of the abnormal reading.

Engine oil pressure gauge

If the value shown on the engine oil pressure gauge drops while the engine is running, stop the vehicle in a safe location immediately and check the amount of engine oil before continuing operation.

If the engine oil pressure drops even though the engine oil level has not decreased, or if the oil pressure does not increase after engine oil is added, contact your Toyota dealer. These conditions may indicate a problem with the Toyota Tacoma engine lubrication system that requires professional inspection.

Trailer settings screen

• Trailer settings screen

1. Displays the name of the currently selected trailer, or "No Trailer Selected" when a trailer has not yet been selected for the Toyota Tacoma.
2. Add a new trailer or select an existing saved trailer
   • Up to 10 different trailers can be saved in the system for later selection.
   • Select the trailer name, length, hitch type, brake type, and number of axles to define the appropriate trailer configuration.
   • The parameters that can be configured depend on which trailer-related systems are installed on the vehicle.

     These may include the Trailer Brake Controller, Trailer Backup Guide, and Trailer Mode BSM.

3. Deselect the currently selected trailer
   • This option is used when a 4-pin trailer connector has been disconnected. A 4-pin trailer connector disconnection cannot be automatically detected by the Trailer Brake Controller, so the selected trailer may need to be deselected manually.
4. Edit the parameters of a saved trailer, including its name, length, hitch type, brake type, and number of axles.
   • The parameters available for editing depend on which of the trailer systems are installed on the Toyota Tacoma, such as the Trailer Brake Controller, Trailer Backup Guide, and Trailer Mode BSM. A saved trailer can also be deleted when it is no longer required.

• Trailer detail screen

1. Displays the name of the current trailer that is being added or edited, making it easier to confirm which saved configuration is being modified.
2. Change the name of the trailer to identify the saved trailer configuration more easily.
3. Change the hitch type of the trailer between a ball hitch (conventional), gooseneck, or fifth wheel. Note that gooseneck and fifth wheel trailers are not supported by certain features, including Trailer Backup Guide and Trailer Mode BSM.
4. Change the length of the trailer. If the exact trailer length is not listed, round up the actual length of the trailer to the closest available value shown by the system.

"Auto" length detection can also be selected when this option is appropriate for the trailer setup.

5. Change the number of axles to match the trailer configuration.
6. Change the brake type (electric or electric over hydraulic) and the weight of the trailer, or turn trailer brakes off for that trailer when applicable.
7. Save the trailer information after confirming that the entered settings are correct.

If there are any errors in the trailer values, select the appropriate value again or delete and re-save the trailer configuration. If the error continues after the settings have been corrected, contact your Toyota dealer for assistance with the Toyota Tacoma trailer setup system.

Settings display

Meter display settings that can be changed

• Language
  Select to change the language used for information and messages shown on the display.
• Units
  Select to change the units of measurement displayed by the Toyota Tacoma meter system.
• Meter Style
  The visual design of the meter display can be changed according to the available display options.
• Dial Type
  Select to change the dial type used on the meter display.
• (Driving information display settings)
  • Fuel economy display

  Select to change the average fuel consumption display between the available after start, after reset, and after refuel calculation modes.

• (Audio settings)
  Select whether to display or hide the audio system-linked display on the multi-information display.
• (Vehicle information display settings)

  Select to change the content displayed for the following items:

  • Drive information and Trip A/B items

  Select to set the first and second items of the Toyota Tacoma drive information display to any of the following available values: average vehicle speed, distance, or elapsed time, allowing the displayed driving data to be arranged according to the driver's preference.

• Pop-up display

  Select to enable or disable pop-up displays for each relevant vehicle system, controlling whether supported notifications appear automatically on the multi-information display.

• Multi-information display off

  Select to turn the multi-information display off when the information screen is not required.

  To turn the multi-information display on again, press any of the meter control switches. The display will then return to normal operation.

• Default setting

  Select to reset the meter display settings to their default values, restoring the original Toyota Tacoma display configuration.

 Suspension of the settings display

• Some settings cannot be changed while driving. When adjusting these settings, park the Toyota Tacoma in a safe location before operating the display controls.
• If a warning message is displayed, operation of the settings display will be suspended so that the warning information can take priority.

WARNING

Cautions during setting up the display

If the engine is running while changing the display settings, make sure that the vehicle is parked in a location with adequate ventilation.

In an enclosed area such as a garage, exhaust gases containing harmful carbon monoxide (CO) may accumulate and enter the Toyota Tacoma cabin.

Exposure to carbon monoxide may lead to death or a serious health hazard, so proper ventilation is essential whenever the engine is running in a confined area.

NOTICE

During setting up the display

To help prevent battery discharge, make sure that the engine is running while configuring the display features for an extended period.

Stop & Start system information (if equipped)

• Stop & Start system operation time (after start)/status notification

Displays the current amount of time the engine has remained stopped through operation of the Stop & Start system since the engine was started.

The Toyota Tacoma multi-information display also shows the current status of the Stop & Start system through a pop-up notification when applicable.

• Stop & Start system settings

The length of time the Stop & Start system will operate while the "A/C" switch of the air conditioning system is on can be adjusted between 2 different levels in " Settings" of the multi-information display.

Suggestion function

The suggestion function displays helpful prompts to the driver in specific operating situations, providing timely reminders related to supported Toyota Tacoma functions.

To select a response to a displayed suggestion, operate the meter control switches and choose the appropriate option shown on the screen.

 Suggestion to turn on the headlights

If the headlight switch is set to a position other than or , and the vehicle speed is 3 mph (5 km/h) or higher for a certain period of time while the surroundings are dark, a suggestion message will appear on the multi-information display to remind the driver to turn on the headlights.

 Suggestion to turn off the headlights

If the headlights remain on for a certain period of time after the engine switch has been turned off, a suggestion message will be displayed to remind the driver that the lights are still illuminated.

When the headlight switch is in the AUTO position, a message asking whether you wish to turn the headlights off will be displayed on the Toyota Tacoma multi-information display.

To turn the headlights off, select "Yes" using the meter control switches.

If the driver's door is opened after the engine switch has been turned off, this particular suggestion message will not be displayed.

 Customization

The suggestion function can be turned on or off according to the driver's preference through the available vehicle settings.
