- When only a small amount of fuel is added to the tank.
- When fuel is added while the fuel gauge is already near or at "F".
- When the Toyota Tacoma is stopped on an uneven surface, such as a slope, which can affect the position of the fuel inside the tank.

Distance until next engine oil change:
Displays the approximate distance the vehicle can be driven before the next engine oil change becomes necessary.
The distance remaining until the next engine oil change will also be displayed in the following situations:- When the engine switch is turned to ON and the vehicle systems begin operating.
- When a warning message indicates that engine oil maintenance should be performed soon or that the required maintenance interval has been reached.
- When the maintenance information is being reset after the appropriate engine oil service has been completed.
The meters and display illuminate when
The meters and display illuminate when the engine switch is in ON, allowing the driver to view the available Toyota Tacoma vehicle status and driving information.
When the drive mode is changed
The background color of the meter display changes according to the selected driving mode, providing a visual indication of the current drive mode setting.
If the units of measure for speedometer can be changed
If the speedometer measurement units can be changed, the corresponding alternate units of measure are also displayed as shown in the illustrations, helping the driver interpret vehicle speed information correctly.

- Type 1/Type 2 meter display configuration
- Type 3 meter display configuration
Outside temperature display
- Displays the outside temperature within the range of -40ºF (-40ºC) to 140ºF (60ºC), providing the Toyota Tacoma driver with a convenient indication of current ambient temperature.
- When the outside temperature is approximately 37ºF (3ºC) or lower, the indicator
will
flash
for approximately 10 seconds and then remain illuminated. - In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be displayed immediately, or the displayed value may take longer than normal to change:
- When the vehicle is stopped or being driven at low speeds of less than 20 mph (12 km/h).
- When the outside temperature changes suddenly, such as when entering or leaving a garage, tunnel, or similar enclosed area.
- When "--" or "E" is displayed, the outside temperature display system may be malfunctioning.
Take your Toyota Tacoma to your Toyota dealer for inspection if this condition occurs.
Fuel gauge and driving range display
The fuel gauge and driving range display operate together. If the fuel gauge and estimated driving range do not update after only a small amount of fuel has been added, the displays can be refreshed by performing the following procedure carefully and in the stated order:
1. Stop the Toyota Tacoma on a level surface so the fuel inside the tank can settle evenly.
Wait until the fuel in the fuel tank stabilizes before continuing with the procedure.
2. Turn the engine switch off.
3. While pressing and holding
of the meter control switch, turn
the engine switch to ON.
4. Continue holding
of the
meter control switch for approximately
5 seconds.
Release the button when the odometer begins blinking, which indicates that the update procedure has started.
The update is complete when the odometer continues blinking for approximately 5 seconds and then returns to its normal display. The fuel gauge and driving range information should then resume normal operation.
Distance to empty
- This distance is calculated based on the vehicle's average fuel consumption and is intended to provide an estimated remaining driving range.
As a result, the actual distance the Toyota Tacoma can be driven may differ from the value shown on the display depending on driving conditions and fuel consumption.
- When only a small amount of fuel is added to the tank, the displayed distance to empty may not update immediately. When refueling, turn the engine switch off. If the Toyota Tacoma is refueled without turning the engine switch off, the displayed value may not be updated correctly.
- When "Refuel" is displayed, the remaining fuel level is low and the system can no longer calculate the distance that can be driven with the available fuel. Refuel the vehicle immediately.
Customization
The gauges and meters can be customized through "
Settings" on the
multi-information display, allowing supported meter and display preferences to be adjusted.
WARNING
The information display at low temperatures
Allow the interior of the Toyota Tacoma to warm up before relying on the liquid crystal information display. At extremely low temperatures, the information display monitor may respond more slowly than normal, and changes shown on the display may be delayed.
For example, there may be a delay between the driver's shifting operation and the new gear number appearing on the display. This delay could cause the driver to downshift again unintentionally, resulting in rapid and excessive engine braking and possibly causing an accident that could lead to death or serious injury.
NOTICE
To prevent damage to the engine and its components
- Do not allow the tachometer indicator needle to enter the red zone, as this area indicates the maximum engine speed and operation in this range may place excessive stress on the engine.
- The engine may be overheating if the engine coolant temperature gauge reaches the red zone (H). If this occurs, immediately stop the Toyota Tacoma in a safe location and inspect the engine only after it has cooled completely.
Adjusting the clock
The clocks shown on the following displays can be adjusted through the multimedia system screen, allowing the displayed time to remain consistent across the vehicle's information systems.
- Multi-information display
- Multimedia system screen
For detailed information about clock adjustment and related settings, refer to the "MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL".
Clock settings screen
If "Clock:00" is displayed when "
Settings" is selected on the multi-information
display, the system may not be operating correctly and a malfunction may be present.
Have the Toyota Tacoma inspected by an authorized repairer or another reliable repairer if this condition occurs.
Adjusting the instrument panel light control
The brightness of the instrument panel lights can be adjusted to provide suitable visibility under different lighting conditions.
Pressing the button adjusts the brightness level of the instrument panel illumination.
The brightness of the instrument panel lights can be increased or decreased by pressing the button according to the driver's preference.
Short press: Changes the brightness level by one step with each press.
Long press: Continuously changes the brightness level until the button is released, making it easier to reach the desired illumination setting.

Instrument cluster brightness adjustment
The Toyota Tacoma instrument cluster brightness levels for conditions when the tail lights are on and when they are off can be adjusted individually, allowing separate illumination settings for different driving environments.
However, when the surroundings are bright, such as during daytime driving, turning on the tail lights will not change the instrument cluster brightness. This behavior helps maintain suitable display visibility under bright ambient conditions.
