Operating instructions
- Move the turn signal lever to indicate a right turn with the Toyota Tacoma.
- For a lane change to the right, move the lever partway in the appropriate direction and then release it.
The right turn signals will automatically flash 3 times to indicate the intended lane change. - For a lane change to the left, move the lever partway and release it.
The left turn signals will automatically flash 3 times, providing a brief indication without requiring the lever to remain engaged. - Move the lever to indicate a left turn.
Turn signals can be operated when
The turn signals are available when the Toyota Tacoma engine switch is in ON. With the switch in this mode, the lever can be used for both normal turns and the 3-flash lane-change function.
If the indicator flashes faster than usual
Bulb type front turn signal
If the turn signal indicator begins flashing noticeably faster than normal, check whether the front turn signal bulb has burned out. A failed bulb can affect normal turn signal operation and should be addressed before continuing regular use of the Toyota Tacoma.
LED type turn signal
If a Toyota Tacoma equipped with an LED type turn signal shows abnormally fast indicator flashing, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer so the cause can be identified.
If the turn signals stop flashing before a lane change has been performed
If the 3-flash sequence ends before the lane change has been completed, operate the turn signal lever again to repeat the indication.
