DESCRIPTION

If the forward recognition camera detects that the forward recognition camera axis has deviated, DTC C1AA8 is stored. Also, if Forward Recognition Camera Axis Adjustment is not performed after installing the forward recognition camera, DTC C1AA9 is stored.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

When replacing the forward recognition camera, always replace it with a new one. If a forward recognition camera which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the forward recognition camera will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.
If the forward recognition camera has been replaced with a new one, be sure to perform Forward Recognition Camera Axis Adjustment.

PROCEDURE

1.	CHECK FOR DTCs (FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA SYSTEM)

(a) Check if the stored DTCs are current DTCs.

(b) Check for DTCs.

2.	CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION

(a) Check the operating conditions of the vehicle.

HINT:

DTC C1AA8 may be stored if the forward recognition camera optical axis is temporarily misaligned due to the vehicle being overloaded.

3.	CHECK WHEEL ALIGNMENT

(a) Check the front wheel alignment (toe).

DTC C1AA8 may be stored if the forward recognition camera optical axis is misaligned due to incorrect wheel alignment (toe).

4.	ADJUST WHEEL ALIGNMENT

(a) Adjust the alignment (toe) of the wheels.

(a) Perform Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.

6.	CHECK FOR DTCs (FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs.

7.	CHECK FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA INSTALLATION

(a) Check the installation condition of the forward recognition camera.

If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or misaligned, replace the windshield glass.

OK:

No deformation or misalignment in the forward recognition camera bracket.

8.	REPLACE WINDSHIELD GLASS

(a) Replace the windshield glass.

9.	PERFORM FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA OPTICAL AXIS ADJUSTMENT

(a) Return the vehicle to normal operating conditions.

(b) Perform Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.

10.	CHECK FOR DTCs (FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs.

HINT:

If only history DTCs are stored, they may have been stored due to a temporarily condition such as overloading of the vehicle, and the system returned to normal when Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust was performed.

(b) Clear the DTCs.
