VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION AND SERIAL NUMBERS
1. VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
(a) The vehicle identification number is stamped on the vehicle body and on the certification label, as shown in the illustration.

(a) The engine serial number is stamped on the cylinder block of the engine and the transmission serial number is stamped on the housing as shown in the illustration.

CHECK MODE PROCEDURE
1. DESCRIPTION
(a) Check mode has a higher sensitivity to malfunctions and can detect malfunctions
that normal mode cannot detect. Check mode can also detect all the malfunctions
that normal mode can detect. In check mode, DTCs are detected with 1 trip detection
logic.
