DESCRIPTION

The combination meter communicates with the ECM, skid control ECU, power steering ECU, main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), airbag sensor assembly, navigation receiver assembly*1, radio and display receiver assembly*2, Forward recognition camera*3 and Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly*3 via the CAN communication system.

DTC Detection Condition

Trouble Area

U0100

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:

  • No communication with ECM continues for 2 seconds or more
  • ECM
  • CAN communication system
  • Combination meter assembly

U0129

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:

  • No communication with skid control ECU continues for 3 seconds or more
  • Brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU)*4
  • Brake booster with master cylinder assembly*5
  • CAN communication system
  • Combination meter assembly

U0142

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:

  • No communication with power steering ECU continues for 3 seconds or more
  • Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)
  • CAN communication system
  • Combination meter assembly

U0151

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:

  • No communication with center airbag sensor assembly continues for 10 seconds or more
  • Airbag sensor assembly
  • CAN communication system
  • Combination meter assembly

U0163

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:

  • No communication with navigation receiver assembly continues for 3 seconds or more*1
  • No communication with radio and display receiver assembly continues for 3 seconds or more*2
  • Navigation receiver assembly*1
  • Radio and display receiver assembly*2
  • CAN communication system
  • Combination meter assembly

U023A

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:

  • No communication with center forward recognition camera continues for 10 seconds or more
  • Forward recognition camera
  • CAN communication system
  • Combination meter assembly

U1104

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:

  • No communication with millimeter wave radar sensor assembly continues for 10 seconds or more
  • Millimeter wave radar sensor assembly
  • CAN communication system
  • Combination meter assembly
  • *1: for Navigation Receiver Type
  • *2: for Radio and Display Type
  • *3: w/ Toyota Safety Sense P
  • *4: for Vacuum Booster Type
  • *5: for Hydraulic Booster Type

PROCEDURE

1.

CONFIRM DTC OUTPUT

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Trouble Codes.

(e) Clear DTCs.

See page (f) Drive the vehicle at more than 5 km/h (3.1 mph) for at least 60 seconds.

(f) Drive the vehicle at more than 5 km/h (3.1 mph) for at least 60 seconds.

(g) Stop the vehicle.

(h) Check DTCs.

HINT:

If CAN communication system DTC U0100, U0129, U0142, U0151, U0163, U023A or U1104 and another DTC are output at the same time, perform troubleshooting for CAN communication system DTC U0100, U0129, U0142, U0151, U0163, U023A or U1104 first.
